The Prophecy of the Condor & the Eagle

An ancient prophecy from the Indigenous peoples of the Andes and Amazon tells of a time when the Condor and the Eagle flew together in the same sky, living in harmony.

The Condor represent  the wisdom of the heart—our connection to the Earth, intuition, Spirit, and indigenous community. The Eagle represent the wisdom of the mind,  knowledge, innovation, domination, and technology.

The prophecy tells that humanity would one day divide into these two paths. For one Pachakuti, a cycle of approximately 500 years, the Eagle would dominate while many Earth-centered cultures and Indigenous ways were repressed to the point of near extintion 

But the Elders also foretold a great turning.

They spoke of a time when the Condor would rise once again, and the Condor and the Eagle would fly together in the same sky—not in competition, but in partnership. The prophecy also predicted 500 years of peace on our planet. 

Many who carry this tradition recognize this new cycle as beginning around 1992: a time to reunite heart and mind, feminine and masculine, ancient wisdom and modern innovation.
